The ceremony was attended by SCNU President Lee Byung-woon, Vice President for External Relations Moon Seung-tae, Dean of the Animation &amp; Cultural Content School Cho Rae-chul, Director of the Animation &amp; Cultural Content Suncheon Campus Kim Dong-jo, as well as representatives from the 11 selected companies. This initiative is part of the Glocal University 30 Specialized Sector Program and is supported by Suncheon City. The program aims to enhance the competitiveness of the local cultural content industry, create youth employment opportunities, and contribute to the revitalization of the regional economy. In particular, it strengthens content development capacity by connecting SCNU’s curriculum and field-based corporate production, fostering practical creative talent. A total of 16 local animation and webtoon companies applied, and 11 companies were selected through document screening and presentation evaluation. The selected companies will receive a total of KRW 1.5 billion (approx.) in production support, which will be used for planning, production, and post-production activities. To maximize the effectiveness of the program, SCNU will integrate internship opportunities, PBL (Project/Problem-Based Learning) courses, and a field-practice semester system into the initiative. This establishes a sustainable cycle: students gain real-world creative experience, while companies secure opportunities to identify and recruit local talent.
